On Joan Armatrading

Joan Armatrading’s 180-gram LP is 100% Analog Mastered by Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio from the best source available- phenomenal-sounding 1/2″ safety copy of the original stereo master tape. The remastering is amazing! Thanks to Glyn Johns’ recording and production work, Joan’s vocals and guitar playing have never sounded so rich, resonant and dynamic. This is an audiophile demo disc all the way, with depth, realism and a breathing dimensionality.

On Judee Sill

Both albums come as double 45RPM LPs for extreme sound quality, were mastered 100% analog from the original master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at GOTTA GROOVE, then packaged in Old Style gatefold jackets printed at Stoughton Printing. The original jacket art for each album was painstakingly recreated to honor the original look and feel of the albums, including Heart Food’s original 4-page book.

The astonishing Judee Sill was the first artist signed to David Geffen’s Asylum Records, and Judee Sill the first album released on the label. Sill’s music is intensely spiritual, redolent of both mysticism and divine imagery, yet grounded by great songwriting and a pure but powerful singing talent. Her songs impart incredible intimacy that is enhanced and not diminished by her sometimes complex string/orchestral arrangements (remarkably Sill arranged and conducted the strings/orchestra on her albums!).
