This is where it started. In 1957, Sam Phillips' Sun Records released two debut albums that still set the standard for rockabilly and country. Intervention brings them together in one bundle, each remastered in Mono from the original Sun master tapes and pressed as a Hybrid CD/SACD that plays on any CD player.
Disc One: Carl Perkins, Dance Album of Carl Perkins (1957)
The first Mono Hybrid CD/SACD in the Sun Records Hi-Fi Series, and arguably the most swaggering set of these songs ever cut. This is Carl playing his own classics the way only he could.
Marking 70 years of "Blue Suede Shoes," this is the first time these recordings have been drawn from these masters in decades.

Disc Two: Johnny Cash, Johnny Cash with His Hot and Blue Guitar! (1957)
Issued in the fall of 1957 as the first long-player on Sun, this is the stripped-down sound that made the future Man in Black. Backed by the Tennessee Two, Luther Perkins on lead guitar and Marshall Grant on upright bass, and lifted by Phillips' signature slapback, it's the record that introduced the world to that unmistakable baritone and the boom-chicka-boom. This edition adds three tracks not on the vinyl release, restored artwork, and new liner notes.
